NLWR Contribution

Supports mining companies’ ESG reporting and reconciliation action plans through Indigenous participation and environmental integrity.

Reduces environmental footprint, improves waste management, promotes sustainable development and mine closure.

Operates under consent-based agreements ensuring Free, Prior and Informed Consent of Traditional Owners.

Fully compliant with environmental protection and waste transport regulations.

Protects Kakadu’s World Heritage values by preventing contamination and ensuring restoration.

Advances Goals 8 (Decent Work), 12 (Responsible Consumption), 13 (Climate Action), 15 (Life on Land).

Commitment to Industry Partners

NLWR provides mining proponents with:

  • Audit-ready documentation for environmental, cultural, and ESG compliance.

  • Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) eligibility through verified Aboriginal ownership.

  • Alignment with ICMM, IUCN, and UNESCO World Heritage frameworks.

  • A practical pathway to achieve mine closure goals while restoring cultural and environmental integrity.

Our model ensures that mining companies not only meet their social licence to operate, but lead in responsible mine closure and circular economy innovation.

Specialists in HDPE plastic recycling

Our plant located at Humpty Doo Northern Territory is capable of handling 2 Tonne an hour of end-of-life High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) materials. One kilo of recycled HDPE material saves the equivalent of 1.68 kilos of Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere when compared to the manufacturing of new HDPE.

Due to Government regulations Australia wide since 2021, industrial plastic must be managed at the end of it’s life (not left in the environment). New Life Waste Recycling (NLWR) offers solutions to Industry for large scale projects and returns the HDPE plastics back to the manufacturing sector creating a true ‘green’ circular economy.

Four years of plastic recycling research and development in the north of Australia, New Life Waste Recycling is now focused on bringing recycling methodology to the HDPE commercial market.

New Life Waste Recycling (NLWR) continues to develop partnerships with industry who utilise and require recycling of large quantities of HDPE material.

NLWR’s Journey

New Life Waste Recycling began in early 2020 with the coming together of individuals that saw a need to address the waste of a resource and an environmental impairment that would last eons. Anecdotal evidence in the general public domain suggests we would be dealing with plastics in the environment for countless generations.

Doug Faulkner (deceased) generated interest with several individuals who possessed various expertise to come together to visualise a solution. He was joined by Steve Tatzenko (deceased) and John Kelly (Corporate Accountant) and they then engaged with Mark Finney of Vinidex Australia to discuss the practicality and possibility of recycling end of life HDPE from mine sites in the Northern Territory including the controversial Ranger Uranium Mine.

Fast forward 5 years and New Life Waste is well advanced in the safe and responsible recycling of HDPE (poly pipe) from our environment. Thanks to John Kelly’s vision and perseverance the New Life Family now includes Patrick Higgins (Risk Manager) and a team of dedicated workers who also share the vision.

New Life is building a bridge to bring together the mining companies, traditional land owners and manufacturers to facilitate a true ‘green’ circular economy. Our process provides the missing link to correctly mitigate environmental contamination.
